Why do guys reply once and then go silent?

Dear Ron,

Why do men reply to my online profile and then go silent when I respond back with a friendly hello? I don't get it, and I'm confused. Any light you can shine on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Some guys can't deal with success. Some find it much easier — and less potentially bruising to their ego — to hunt and hope rather than to have and keep. So they weed themselves. They disappear to hunt and hope somewhere else. Be glad.
